The next choice of image for the sketchbook project represents my passion for knowledge. I have collected autographs since I was a child and when I was young the cinematographer Vittorio Storaro answered one of my fan letters. He didnt just send me his autograph but he sent me a poem written in Italian but which translates as the following:
The light is word
The word is love,
Love is knowledge
Knowledge is freedom
Freedom is light
Light is power
Power is all.
I love the power this poem imbues knowledge with. I recently heard the story about Albert Einstein and the simple bus ride he took which inspired his understanding of relativity. Astonishing!!
